Today, Trump disparaged the Prince of Wales, smearing him as “just a troublemaker. .. He’s no longer into his royal duties now. He has an anger management problem. I think he should see a doctor,” Trump told reporters. “Have you ever watched him? He’s so angry, he’s so crazy.”
Posting on Instagram, Prince William responded by taking the high road — and then urging Trump to seek mental healthcare himself, which he clearly desperately needs.
“I heard Donald Trump once again has expressed his very flattering opinions on my character, and I appreciate his concerns for my mental health,” wrote Prince William.
“To Trump: I would kindly receive any recommendations you might have to deal with these so called ‘anger management problems’ since – judging by your impressive track record – you seem to be suffering from them too.”
Prince William was just released from Israeli custody, where he was taken after the Global Sumud Aid Flotilla was intercepted by the Israeli navy and prevented from delivering life-saving supplies to starving people in Gaza. The Prince was treated appallingly by the Israelis; he himself said that he was “kidnapped and tortured” and others; his fellow flotilla sailor, Italian journalist Saverio Tommasi, said Israeli soldiers withheld medicines and treated prisoners “like monkeys,” accusing Israeli officials of “torture, a denial of human rights, even the most basic ones.”
But even after all that, he could still find the heart to respond with dignity and with care, two things that Trump could never, ever summon. There couldn’t be two people more unlike the other. William has dedicated his entire life to selflessly fighting for the environment through Earthshot and for global justice, while Trump has dedicated his entire life to getting rich, abusing women, and seizing power for his own malicious aims. Donald Trump SHOULD seek mental healthcare immediately — and retire from the presidency, since he is clearly mentally incapable of doing the job.
