The Muslim Congress (TMC) has strongly condemned the ongoing military strikes by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, warning that the actions represent a flagrant violation of international law.

In a statement signed by its Amir, Alhaji AbdulWasi’i Bangbala, on Wednesday, the group described the attacks as “a catastrophic failure of diplomacy and a perilous escalation driven by a hegemonic might-makes-right ideology.”

The war, now in its fifth day, has killed Iran’s Head of State, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, several top officials, and over 165 schoolgirls and staff, while also causing widespread property destruction, including severe damage to Minab General Hospital, a vital medical facility for thousands.

Bangbala stressed that such unilateral military operations bypass multilateral frameworks and undermine the foundations of global peace.

“The international community must recognize that military aggression against a sovereign nation is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter,” he said, adding, “Iran has the right to determine its own destiny free from external coercion and violence.”

The Congress underscored the apparent double standards in the application of international norms, pointing out that while the West criticizes Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme, it remains silent on Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal.

According to him, “Israel is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and has never submitted to international inspection. Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear facilities are open to inspectors. This selective outrage exposes the political motives behind claims of concern for global security.”

Bangbala expressed concern over reports that Britain, France, and Germany may enable or participate in further military action against Iran, urging European nations to refrain from joining or facilitating these strikes.

He said, “Framing participation as defensive does not change the reality that such involvement escalates the conflict and prolongs civilian suffering. Diplomacy must be prioritized over military action.”

The statement also drew attention to the humanitarian consequences of the strikes. “The attack on a school in Minab, which killed dozens of children, is a grim reminder that civilians pay the heaviest price,” TMC said.

“Infrastructure damage, disruption of essential services, and displacement of families create long-term instability that will last for generations. Airspace closures and threats to critical waterways also jeopardize global supply chains.”

TMC demanded an immediate cessation of hostilities and full respect for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. “The United Nations Security Council must take decisive action to halt this aggression,” the statement said.

Alhaji Bangbala also called for Israel to accede to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and place its nuclear programme under the full-scope monitoring of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

“The people of Iran alone have the right to determine their future. All parties must commit to comprehensive agreements that address security concerns without resorting to force.

“We urge people of conscience around the world to raise their voices against this aggression and promote a return to diplomacy,” he added.
