Twenty-six of the 27 European Union member states have voted in favour of partially suspending the EU-‘Israel’ Association Agreement, in a move reflecting growing political pressure within the bloc over its relations with ‘Israel’.
However, the decision cannot move forward due to Hungary’s opposition, which prevents the unanimous approval required under EU procedures.
The vote highlights divisions among EU member states over policy toward ‘Israel’, amid ongoing regional tensions and debate over trade and diplomatic relations.
While a large majority supported the measure, Hungary’s veto blocks formal adoption at this stage.
