“The day I was announced as the chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC), I arrived and the DG (Director-General) showed me a jeep, a Prado, and told me how much allowance I had for accommodation.

I told the DG, ‘I just want to come here for meetings. I don’t need your sitting allowance, your car, or your house.’

He said it was my entitlement, but I told him that whatever I am entitled to, God has already given me.”

Similarly, he said again:

“I was Chairman of Fidelity Bank, and they told me that I was entitled to a Mercedes 500 or a Range Rover. The bank is still there. Go and ask them if I collected anything. I told them that I am the chairman, and whatever I need in my house, I have, unless you want to bring a headache upon yourself.

I have enough. I don’t need to give away, but what I need, I have.”

These statements were made by Mr. Peter Obi on Saturday, 17 January 2026, during a coffee hangout organized by KayhikersClub in Abuja.

He had earlier made similar statements in 2022 and repeated them in January this year.

These are public establishments, and the records are there, but no one, not a single human being, has come out to say that these statements are lies. He has been consistent in his character of integrity, and he doesn’t hide it.

Tell me again why you hate Peter Obi. Is it because he is different from your regular looters who lie and insult you every now and then?

Also, tell us why you are loyal to and in love with the people who have made your life miserable.

We are voting Obi and Kwankwaso because they are different. They are not corrupt like your candidates and you know it.

Meanwhile, we are still waiting for anyone who can verify the above statements and prove him wrong.
