The Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abbah Yusuf has been charged to apply his wealth of diplomatic expertise to reposition Hajj administration in Nigeria.
The Kogi State Council of Ulama’u of Nigeria led by its Chairman, Sheikh Salman Adam Imam, made the charge recently while on a courtesy call to the new NAHCON Chairman in Abuja.
Sheikh Imam in his speech, said that the visit was to identify with him, pray and urge him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the management of the Commission for the good of the Muslim Ummah and the entire country.
The Council observed that since the creation of NAHCON, Kogi State had not been opportune to represent the North Central geopolitical zones adding that now, the enviable privilege had come and in a very big way.
The council urged the Chairman to ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s wisdom to entrust him with the enormous Hajj management in Nigeria is reciprocated with outstanding performance that would be a source of pride not only to the people of Kogi State or the Muslim Ummah, but the North Central and the nation at large.
Thanking the Presidency for this rare opportunity, the Council appealed to President Tinubu to support the Commission by providing enabling the environment for the smooth and hitch-free Hajj operations.
NAHCON’s Chairman, Amb. Yusuf in his remarks, expressed appreciation for the visit as he solicited for the Council’s support, cooperation and prayers.
He assured the delegation that he would put in his best to sustain the achievements so far made by the Commission, build on them, and ensure that greater heights were achieved during his humble stewardship.
The Chairman urged the visitors to continue to support President Tinubu with prayer in his efforts to reposition Nigeria.
He added that governance is a two-way traffic, hence the need for prayer for our leaders for Allah’s guidance and protection.
