Except you are hypocritical or outright dumb, there are certain points you would agree to in respect of the illegal war in Iran. It doesn’t matter whether you like or hate Iran; you only need to be a human being with a discerning mind to accept these facts:
One: In the past three weeks, Iran has never initiated any attack on either US interests or on the State of Israel. All attacks from Iran are simply retaliatory.
Two: No nation that condemns Iran for its retaliation has ever condemned the US or Israel for their unprovoked attacks that caused the retaliation. They only condemn Iran when it retaliates, not when it is attacked by its enemies.
Three: Over 160 schoolgirls were bombed right in their school compound, with no serious outrage anywhere outside Iran. But when Iranian missiles hit a civilian neighbourhood in Israel with minimal casualties, Tehran was condemned for attacking civilians.
Four: When a desalination plant in Iran was attacked, the world kept quiet until Iran retaliated. Suddenly, everyone realised how critical the facility was and condemned Iran for escalation.
Five: The US and Israel claim that Iran has a nuclear facility that was already capable of producing nuclear weapons. The US used bunker-buster bombs to destroy the facility with no regard for possible radiation and its effects on people. When Iran responded by attacking the location of Israel’s nuclear site, it was more symbolic. It deliberately avoided hitting the nuclear site. That was a clever way to avoid radioactive aftermath.
Six: When the US fired missiles from Diego Garcia towards Iran, it was seen as a sign of military supremacy. But when Iran fired two symbolic missiles towards UK-US military bases in the Indian Ocean, the world screamed about escalation. By implication, the world is fine with the US and Israel destroying Iran from a 400-km distance, but it is considered unacceptable for Iran to respond. Now, it is labelled escalation because Iranian missiles can reach European capitals such as London, Paris, and Berlin.
Seven: Regardless of Iran’s military capabilities, it has never used them against any country. On the other hand, Israel has always boastfully venerated its air defence systems: Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow.
Eight: It is considered acceptable if Israel continues to threaten and fire at Iran, but Iran must not respond in equal measure.
Nine: None of the Arab nations that have continued to issue joint press releases against Iran’s retaliation has ever issued a similar joint press release to condemn the murder of the Iranian Supreme Leader or the massacre of over 160 schoolchildren.
Ten: Whether we like it or not, Iran is proving far stronger than the US and Israel had expected.
Eleven: Many people support the US fighting to preserve its overblown pride, but argue that Iran should not respond as part of a survival strategy.
Twelve: Arabs are the most hypocritical set of people on planet Earth. Trust one at your own peril.
One thing I am almost certain about is that bombs and missiles may not trigger World War III, but the hypocrisy of friends and bystanders could be what eventually brings war upon us and destroys the world altogether.
